Customers - Frequently Asked Questions
|
Yes. All active Vectren Source customers in Georgia will automatically have their
natural gas service transferred to Gas South as of September 1, 2008. You will not
experience any interruption in your natural gas service.
You should receive a final bill from Vectren Source in September for natural gas
service provided through August 31, 2008. Shortly thereafter, you should receive
your first bill from Gas South for natural gas service provided in the month of
September. Please note that these bills will not include any duplicate charges.
It is important that you pay both bills by the specified due date.
Yes. Your rate plan and your monthly customer service fee will remain just as they
are today, and will automatically transfer to Gas South.
- If you have a fixed rate contract with Vectren Source, Gas South will honor your
rate and other fees through the full term of your contract.
- If you are on a variable rate with Vectren Source, you will be placed on Gas South’s
Variable Rate Plan, which allows you the flexibility to switch to a fixed rate at
any time.

All customers will receive a paper bill for their first bill with Gas South. Your
first bill will also include information on how to sign up for Electronic Bill Payment and Presentment (EBPP) for those customers
preferring not to receive a paper bill in the future. Changes you should notice
on your bill are a new Atlanta Gas Light Account Number and a new Gas South Account
Number.
- If you currently pay your gas bill automatically through your bank account or
a credit card, this convenient service will continue at Gas South with no action
required of you. If you do not wish to continue with Auto Pay, you may call Gas
South at 1-888-929-1422 to remove your account from this service.
- Gas South offers Online Bill Pay, pay by mail, pay by phone, and many other convenient
payment options. Click here for more information on how and where you can pay your bill.
Yes. Gas South offers its senior citizen customers discounted rates, and you will
automatically receive these rates if you are a Senior Select customer. In addition,
Gas South will continue to honor your discounted $3.95 monthly customer service
fee.
Deposits held with Vectren Source will be applied to your final bill. If a credit
remains, Vectren Source will issue a refund check to your billing address, four
to six weeks after your final bill.
No. All active Vectren Source customers will be transferred to Gas South without
a credit screening or deposit requirement. However, if you are disconnected for
non-payment or cancel service and choose to come back at a later date, Gas South
does perform credit checks for all new service enrollments (new and past customers).
Yes. Gas South will continue to bill your current monthly Budget Billing amount.
Gas South will periodically review your account and will advise you of any changes
required to your monthly Budget Bill payment due to changes in your consumption
or natural gas prices.
