What is the Budget Bill Payment Plan?

This is a convenient service that helps you manage fluctuations in your monthly natural gas bill by providing a consistent monthly payment for twelve (12) months.

How does the Gas South Budget Bill Payment Plan work?

The Budget Bill Payment Plan is a service that estimates your total annual cost for natural gas based on past or estimated consumption and expected natural gas prices and fees. This estimate is used to determine your monthly Budget Payment for twelve (12) months.

How often does Gas South review my Budget Bill Payment Plan?

Will my monthly payment ever change? Twice a year, Gas South will review your monthly Budget Payment and Budget Account Balance to determine if an adjustment needs to be made to your monthly Budget Payment. An increase or decrease in your natural gas consumption and changes in natural gas prices could cause your monthly Budget Payment to change.

What is my Budget Account Balance and how is it used?

Your Budget Account Balance is the difference between your total monthly Budget Payments and your actual charges incurred. Your Budget Account Balance is used when we review your account to determine if your monthly Budget Payment needs adjusting. If your Budget Bill Payment Plan is cancelled, any existing Budget Account Balance will be applied to your account and will be included on your next bill.

How can I protect myself from accumulating a large Budget Account Balance?

Gas South will monitor your account and adjust your monthly Budget Payment if it appears that your account is accumulating a large Budget Account Balance. You can also monitor your Budget Account Balance on your bill, in the Budget Bill detail section.

Can I request a refund if I have a large credit for my Budget Account Balance?

No. Credit Budget Account Balances are not refunded; they are used when we review your account and recalculate your monthly Budget Payment. If you cancel your plan and have a credit balance, the credit will be applied towards future charges. If you are terminating your service with Gas South and there are no outstanding charges on your account, your credit will be refunded.

Can I use my Budget Account Balance to pay the current amount due on my bill?

No. Your monthly Budget Payment is due in full each month by the bill due date.

Can I pay my monthly Budget Payment online?

Yes. You can pay your bill using any of our convenient payment options, including online bill pay.

Is it possible to be removed from the Budget Bill Payment Plan?

Yes. You can be removed from the plan at your request or due to non-payment. Regardless of the reason, if your plan is cancelled, any existing Budget Account Balance will be applied to your account and will be included on your next bill.

Am I eligible for a Pay Plan while on Budget Bill?

No. Budget Bill customers are not eligible for a pay plan.
